Partnership for Books

As part of the "Partnership for Books" program, five thematic projects were implemented at the DeRevolutionibus bookstore-café. These projects consisted of live meetings, lectures, discussions, and podcasts on literary and popular science topics. Participants explored themes such as Time, Borders, and Travel from an interdisciplinary perspective, listened to discussions about unconventional career paths, and delved into non-fiction literature

2021: Partnership for Books – Meetings with Professionals

“Meetings with Professionals” was a series of discussions aimed at supporting youth in making career decisions. The meetings featured career advisors talking with experts from various scientific fields and unconventional professions. Each meeting included a segment focused on popularizing a specific field, with the guest revealing the intricacies of their work, and a segment dedicated to career development and different career models. Guests included Monika Koperska (Ph.D. in chemistry), Anna Makówka-Kwapisiewicz (social engagement and human rights expert), Michał Sarapata (bassist, music producer), Paweł Jedynak (biofuel expert), Łukasz Wojtusik (radio journalist), and Piotr Zięba (biotechnologist). The events, led by career advisor Aldona Radomska, can be viewed on the DeRevolutionibus YouTube channel.

2021: Partnership for Books – Borders

Under the collective title “Borders,” six podcasts were created within three thematic blocks, focusing on literature, society, and architecture. The literature block examined whether and how authors currently experiment with form and content. The social borders block discussed the climate crisis, increasing disparities, and ideological boundaries within European countries. The architecture block addressed dilemmas in urban design, city aesthetics, designing for residents, and conscious space shaping. Guests included Dorota Leśniak-Rychlak, Jan Mencwel, Julia Wizowska, Dobrosław Kot, Filip Zawada, and Elżbieta Łapczyńska. The discussions were published on the DeRevolutionibus website, YouTube channel, and popular streaming services.

2020: Partnership for Books – Reading Non-Fiction: A Guide to Reportage

The project “Reading Non-Fiction: A Guide to Reportage” was a series of seven meetings focused on reportage. It covered the genre’s history, contemporary depictions of the past, and various trends within non-fiction literature. Guests included reportage authors, critics, and literary experts, with sessions led by Paulina Małochleb. Sessions featured Marcin Zaremba, Magdalena Grzebałkowska, Agnieszka Mrozik, Tomasz Patora, Julianna Jonek Springer, Adam Robiński, Filip Springer, Bartosz Józefiak, Magdalena Kicińska, and Mikołaj Grynberg. All meetings are available on the DeRevolutionibus YouTube channel.

2019: Partnership for Books – Travel: Literature, Philosophy, Science

The project “Travel: Literature, Philosophy, Science” consisted of 12 meetings exploring the concept of travel in literary, philosophical, historical, and scientific contexts. Literary events included meetings with Filip Springer, Olga Gitkiewicz, and Mikołaj Grynberg. Scientific events featured lectures by Dr. Mateusz Hohol, Karol Jałochowski, and Benjamin H. Ogden. Philosophical events included discussions with Prof. Marta Soniewicka, Jacek Wojtysiak, Adam Grobler, and Dr. Kamil Mamak. Participants engaged with recognized writers, scientists, and philosophers.

2018: Partnership for Books – Time in Literature, Philosophy, and Science

The project “Time in Literature, Philosophy, and Science” was a series of 11 meetings exploring the concept of time across literature, science, and philosophy. Events featured contemporary authors like Filip Springer and classics like Thomas Mann, Marcel Proust, and Sándor Márai. Scientific lectures were given by Szymon Drobniak, Mateusz Hohol, and Łukasz Lamża. Philosophical lectures were based on Martin Heidegger’s philosophy and included topics such as “Ethics and Time” and “Primordial Temporality.” The series included three literary meetings, three scientific lectures, three philosophical lectures, and two discussion panels.
